In The Silent Sea, members of an elite team crew out to save the earth are murdered one by one at the abandoned research station, Balhae, with only a 10% chance of surviving.
The Silent Sea is a Netflix original series about an elite crew on a special mission to an abandoned research outpost on the moon in the near future when resource depletion has ravaged the Earth.
The Silent Sea trailer opens with a picture of a barren Earth. Resource depletion puts all life on Earth in jeopardy. Song Jian (Bae Doona), team leader Han Yunjae (Gong Yoo), head engineer Ryu Taesuk (Lee Joon), spacecraft pilot(Lee Sung-wook), team doctor Doc Hong (Kim Sun-young), head of security Gong Soohyuk (Lee Mu-saeng), and spacecraft pilot Kim Heesun from Korea’s Space and Aeronautics Administration find the answer to humanity’s survival and plan another moon exploration mission.

Balhae Lunar Research Station, which was shut down five years ago due to an accident, is their goal. The team set off on a vital mission to “collect an important sample from the station and return to Earth,” but their spaceship crashes on the moon, posing a huge difficulty. They just make it to the mysterious Balhae Lunar Research Station.
The team is thrown into disorder by the discovery of dead individuals with unexplained causes of death and an unidentified signal of life, while Song Jian begins to mistrust the government’s claim that the station was permanently locked down due to an accident. She has doubts regarding the secrets buried beneath the surface of the Balhae Lunar Research Station.

The elite crew is confronted with tense life-or-death situations as they search for a way to survive. As one member chokes up blood-like water, they have a gut feeling that strange things will happen at the station. They are stranded on the station, which resembles a secret trap room when their attempts to escape the station and communicate with the outside fail.
The headline “A Deadly mission will reveal the Moon’s darkest secrets” piques viewers’ interest in what secrets the unknown and silent water hides, as well as if the mission’s participants will be able to safely return home. The main trailer emphasizes not just the mysteries of the Balhae Lunar Research Station, but also the realistic depiction of space and the moon.
