Matilde Davoli was born in Salento, Italy, and now lives in Lecce, Puglia. She spent five years in London, where she began to embrace her solo work after participating in various collaborations. The musician has professional training as a producer and a resident sound engineer, which has helped her establish herself as one of the most well-known figures in the Italian independent music scene, as well as working with a number of foreign artists.

Matilde Davoli draws inspiration from artists such as Stereolab, Broken Social Scene, Feist, and Air, as well as the 60s and 70s movie soundtracks. Her own sound, on the other hand, is reminiscent of Feist, Air, and Zero 7.

Matilde Davoli began to examine her own sense of belonging, which led to the creation of the album. It offers a sound investigation of both Italy and England, as well as a depiction of the very ethereal aspect that the word possesses. Instead, the antique synth-scapes and softly progressive accents represent the concept’s accepting state of mind.

“Home has been a process of emotional and musical discovery, I wanted to create a mix of atmospheric jazz, pop and electronic, experiment with song structure and with my limits. I don’t like being tied to a specific music genre, which means trouble when someone asks me what I do. It’s many homes in one,” says Matilde Davoli about the EP’s concept.
