A new force in OPM is about to make its mark.
Bleeding December, the English-Filipino alt-rock collaboration, will release their self-titled debut EP on October 2, 2026 via OMV Music. The five-track project brings together singer/guitarist Mel Felismino and bassist Dave Habza, combining their songwriting and production with the emotional intensity of a 90s alternative rock sound.
The EP follows the release of singles “Simpleng Harana,” “We Were Young,” and their latest, “I Know Now,” offering an introduction to a project that draws from the traditions of Filipino rock and OPM while embracing the sound and sensibilities of alternative music.
“Bleeding December is about bringing together different parts of our musical backgrounds and experiences,” the band shares. “The songs move between English and Filipino, but the emotions behind them are universal.”
The recording features drums from Frank Ferrer, best known for his work with Guns N’ Roses, The Psychedelic Furs, and Love Spit Love. The EP was mixed at the legendary Grant Avenue Studio, with additional recording and production contributions from Andrew Lauzon.
