London-based singer-songwriter Unflirt, the musical project of second-generation Filipino immigrant Christine Senorin, makes a stunning and introspective return with her new single “Sea Song,” produced by cult indie icon Day Wave, a release that not only teases a forthcoming long-form project but also officially marks her signing to FADER Label.

The track arrives fresh from her support slot for Del Water Gap at his sold-out London show, signaling a bold new chapter that highlights a deeper, more mature approach to her songwriting, which was shaped by her time in Adrienne Lenker’s songwriting course and written between London and Brazil. Introducing a richer sonic palette while remaining grounded in her signature euphoric choruses, gritty yet mellow production, and yearning lyricism, “Sea Song” draws clear influence from the dynamic contrasts of Smashing Pumpkins and the delicate emotion of Elliott Smith, moving masterfully between moments of pristine quiet and a soaring, guitar-driven wall of sound to capture both raw intensity and profound introspection.

Unflirt first discovered her voice in the transformative stillness of the 2020 lockdown, turning late-night solitude into a series of lo-fi bedroom pop recordings that would eventually form her debut EP, 2023’s Bitter Sweet, which explored the delicate ache of love, loss, and self-discovery and was anchored by the standout poignant anthem of regret “Differently.”

Later that same year, her sophomore EP, April’s Nectar, expanded this emotional depth significantly, with tracks like “Someday” and “Had Enough” pulsing with unfiltered vulnerability and showcasing her evolution into a truly fearless storyteller, garnering her millions of streams across platforms and building a dedicated audience.

Her live performances reflect the same quiet intensity as her recordings, known for being raw, intimate, and emotionally resonant; in the summer of 2024, she supported Aurora on a completely sold-out European and UK tour, a run that culminated in a triumphant performance at London’s historic Royal Albert Hall, and later that same year, she joined her longtime friend beabadoobee on a European run, delivering stripped-back acoustic sets that solidly cemented her presence within the UK’s burgeoning indie music scene. With more new music and live dates to be announced soon, Unflirt’s journey from late-night solitude to Royal Albert Hall continues to be one of the most compelling narratives in modern indie music.
