There are songs that simply play—and then there are songs that illuminate. With his poignant new single “When The Sun Comes Out”, acclaimed singer-songwriter Levi Robin crafts the latter: a stripped-down indie folk revelation that feels like the first warm rays after a long, uncertain night. “It’s a triumphant farewell to darkness and deceit,” Levi confides, “embracing truth, peace, and the healing power of kindness.” The track, out now, is a gentle yet galvanizing reminder that even the heaviest clouds part—and when they do, what remains is a world where honesty flows freely, and hearts beat without fear.
Built on warm acoustic melodies and Levi’s emotive, weathered vocals, “When The Sun Comes Out” is a masterclass in minimalist storytelling. There’s no orchestral swell, no overproduction—just raw, unfiltered emotion, as if Levi is singing directly to you across a dimly lit room. It’s a sound that feels both intimately personal and universally resonant, a hallmark of Levi’s genre-defying artistry. Drawing inspiration from Bob Dylan’s lyrical poignancy, Marvin Gaye’s soulful introspection, and Radiohead’s experimental edge, Levi has carved out a niche that’s entirely his own—one where folk, spirituality, and unflinching honesty collide.
This authenticity didn’t come from following a well-trodden path. Growing up in Orange County, California, Levi felt stifled by what he calls “the conveyor belt trajectory of the school system.” So, with little more than a guitar and a restless spirit, he stepped off—embarking on a journey that would take him from runaway nights to Eastern ashrams, from psychedelic awakenings to the rediscovery of his ancient Judaic roots. Through it all, songwriting remained his compass. “From being a runaway to encountering eastern spirituality, from psychedelia to unearthing my own ancient Judaic roots, songwriting has been a uniquely integrating constant,” he reflects.
That journey has led him here: an artist with over a million streams, a devoted global fanbase, and a support slot for Matisyahu under his belt. In 2023, fate intervened when Levi met producer Yoel Kreisler (FRAYMES) at one of his shows, sparking an instant creative alchemy. Their collaboration birthed last year’s “Whole As A Broken Heart”, and now, “When The Sun Comes Out”—a song that feels like the dawn after a storm.
It’s not Levi’s first time soundtracking transformation. His 2023 single “Healing Is Coming” was “a song of surrender and courage, to face all obstacles, to face the ineffable truth of life,” while “When the Walls Fall” roared with an anthemic call to spiritual awakening. But “When The Sun Comes Out” is something quieter, softer—a lullaby for the weary, a promise to the hopeful.
Levi Robin doesn’t just make music. He translates the human experience into melody, offering listeners not just songs, but companions for their own journeys. With “When The Sun Comes Out”, he extends a hand—and reminds us all to keep our eyes on the horizon. The light is coming.
