Family vacations are supposed to be relaxing – unless you’re Hutch Mansell. Bob Odenkirk reprises his role as the unassuming family man with a lethal set of skills in Nobody 2, hitting Philippine theaters on August 13. This time, what begins as a much-needed getaway at Wild Bill’s Majestic Midway and Waterpark quickly spirals into chaos when a minor altercation with local bullies pulls Hutch and his family into the crosshairs of a corrupt theme park operator, a shady sheriff, and a ruthless crime boss.

Three years have passed since the explosive events of 2021’s Nobody, and Hutch’s secret life as an assassin is no longer under wraps. “They went through a lot in the first film, and with Nobody 2, they go through even more,” says producer Kelly McCormick. The sequel explores the fallout of Hutch’s double life, blending brutal action with darkly comedic family dynamics. “The challenge in a sequel is, once the genie is out of the bottle, how do you tell a compelling story and create suspense?” adds producer Marc Provissiero. “We decided to show the challenge and create themes around work-life balance. Even with the job that Hutch does, he’s still got to come home to a family.”

For Hutch, balancing fatherhood and assassination proves messier than expected. His family vacation turns into a blood-soaked battleground, forcing him to protect his loved ones while confronting his own violent instincts. “Hutch’s penchant for violence may be the thing that makes him great at his profession, but it’s not such a great thing in other areas of life,” McCormick explains. “Now he has to figure out how to get out of trouble while his family is by his side every minute.”

Odenkirk, who also produces the film, promises Nobody 2 delivers even more of what fans loved about the first movie—only bigger. “There’s more fighting, character, story; there’s more everything,” he says. The result? A film that’s “powerful, funny, surprising, out of control, bloody—and sweet.”

With bone-crunching fight sequences, dark humor, and unexpected heart, Nobody 2 is set to be one of the most explosive action films of the year.
