Pop-punk icons Simple Plan have unveiled Simple Plan: The Kids in the Crowd, an intimate documentary now streaming globally on Prime Video, alongside a new single “Nothing Changes” and the film’s official soundtrack.
From Basements to Global Stages
The documentary traces the band’s 25-year journey, blending never-before-seen archival footage with fresh interviews featuring Avril Lavigne, Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus, and The Offspring’s Dexter Holland. Directed by Didier Charette, it chronicles the creation of era-defining hits like “Welcome to My Life” and “Perfect”, while highlighting their enduring influence as one of pop-punk’s last arena-filling acts.
“Reliving our story—from parents’ basements to sold-out world tours—was emotional,” shares drummer Chuck Comeau. “We hope it inspires fans to chase their dreams.”
New Music, Same Rebellious Spirit
Dropping alongside the documentary, “Nothing Changes” delivers a high-voltage dose of nostalgia, pairing punchy riffs with lyrics celebrating the band’s unshakable bond with fans. The track anchors a soundtrack featuring unreleased demos and rarities, offering diehards a treasure trove of deep cuts.
With 10 million albums sold and $3 million raised for youth charities via their foundation, Simple Plan proves punk’s heart still beats loud. As Comeau puts it: “This isn’t goodbye—it’s the next chapter.”
