Japan’s unstoppable hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts returns with two explosive new tracks, “Mirage” and “Nemure,” serving as the opening and closing themes for Call of the Night Season 2, premiering today on HIDIVE. The releases come hot on the heels of their historic nine-win sweep at the 2025 Music Awards Japan and follow their global viral smash “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born,” which has amassed 800 million streams worldwide.
A Sonic Vampire Saga
The Latin-flavored “Mirage” slinks through Spanish guitar riffs and a syncopated beat, with R-shitei’s versatile flow channeling everything from bossa nova cool to reggaeton swagger. In contrast, “Nemure” (“Sleep”) is a nocturnal anthem—layering chopped strings and skittering percussion into a restless, dance-worthy plea against wasting the night: “Dance until the morning comes / Can’t give up, until that time…” Both tracks dive deep into the anime’s themes of fleeting passion and supernatural longing, continuing Creepy Nuts’ symbiotic relationship with the Call of the Night universe—the original manga was inspired by their 2019 song of the same name.
Award-Winning Chaos
Fresh off winning Best Opening Sequence and Best Anime Song at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards for “Otonoke” (Dan Da Dan), the duo proves their music is inescapable—whether on TV, radio (they’ve hosted All Night Nippon for five years), or stadiums (they’ve sold out Saitama Super Arena). Their fourth album, LEGION, packs every hit: from the Under Ninja live-action film’s theme “doppelgänger” to the TikTok-conquering “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born,” which topped iTunes hip-hop charts in 30+ countries and hit #2 on Apple Music’s Global Chart.
Meet the Prodigies
R-shitei (3x UMB Grand Champion) and DJ Matsunaga (DMC World DJ Champion) balance battle-rap grit with infectious charisma—a duality that’s made them Japan’s hip-hop kings and variety-show staples. With Call of the Night Season 2 catapulting their new tracks, Creepy Nuts are rewriting anime music history, one genre-bending banger at a time.
