Henry Golding addressed swirling speculation about potentially succeeding Daniel Craig as James Bond during a recent red carpet appearance.
“I think that’s every actor’s kind of nightmare,” Golding told People at The Old Guard 2 premiere in Los Angeles (June 25), referencing the iconic spy role. He elaborated: “You want to add something new to a franchise… Why can’t they introduce more agents or OO’s? That would be more fun without the restraints and expectation.”
Despite acknowledging the allure, Golding confessed candidly: “Maybe I’m just a pussy. I don’t know. But I’d love it far more without that overhanging cultural pressure.”
Golding is among rumored contenders for Bond, per Variety’s November 2024 list of top candidates including Theo James, Regé-Jean Page, Aaron Pierre, James Norton, and Idris Elba.
