Starring Atiwat Saengtien of “Pee Nak” fame
Ayala Malls Cinemas continues its streak of bringing chilling Asian horror to Philippine screens with the exclusive release of “Don’t Sleep”, a terrifying new Thai supernatural thriller opening June 4. Rated R-16, the film stars Atiwat Saengtien (of the hit “Pee Nak” series) and Pantipa Arunwattanachai (“Oh My Ghost: The Finale”).
A Modern Horror Rooted in Thai Folklore
“Don’t Sleep” follows a group of friends who unknowingly unleash vengeful spirits after playing with Pee Tuey Gaew, a Thai version of the Ouija board. The film blends ancient ghost lore with themes of guilt and trauma, creating a psychological horror experience that lingers long after the credits roll.
Director Krittanut Watcharanuntagul crafted an unsettling atmosphere through claustrophobic sets, shadowy cinematography, and practical effects rather than heavy CGI. “We wanted the horror to feel real—like something lurking just beyond sight,” he explains.
