UST’s Next Generation of Entrepreneurs Take Center Stage!

Get ready to witness the birth of business brilliance! OHA! Studios, a dynamic third-year AB Communication block from the University of Santo Tomas, is set to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit with their groundbreaking new show, “Roar to Riches.” Premiering its pilot episode on April 28th at 3:00 PM via the UST Tiger TV Facebook page, this student-produced venture is more than just a class project—it’s a platform for Thomasian innovation.

Inspired by the high-stakes world of “Shark Tank,” “Roar to Riches” empowers students, particularly those from the College of Commerce and Business Administration, to pitch their business dreams to a panel of seasoned experts known as “The Tigers.” This panel, comprised of esteemed alumni, professors, and industry leaders, provides invaluable feedback and mentorship, transforming student ideas into actionable business ventures. Beyond the pitches, the show fosters creativity, practicality, and collaboration, equipping students with real-world insights and a supportive community that champions entrepreneurial risk-taking. As Executive Producer Nadine Hernandez aptly puts it, “This show defies the stereotype that the youth cannot drive meaningful change. We believe in the transformative power of young innovators and want to elevate their ideas—proving that, with the right support, they can achieve greater heights.”

“Roar to Riches” breaks the mold of traditional business competitions by blending education with entertainment. This reality-inspired format immerses student entrepreneurs in real-world scenarios, testing their creativity, business acumen, and decision-making under pressure. “They will expect a new and innovative concept for a student-produced show as we venture into the realm of business,” explains Executive Producer Justine Ariola. “We have pushed the boundaries to create a reality-like television experience that captures both the creative and strategic aspects of negotiation.” Executive Producer Coleen Hufanda adds, “The show cultivates an entrepreneurial mindset among Thomasians by providing real-world experience in business planning, pitching, and even production.” Beyond the entertainment value, “Roar to Riches” serves as a hands-on learning experience, a crash course in entrepreneurship taught not in a classroom, but in front of the cameras.

More than just a show, “Roar to Riches” is a catalyst for change. As Nadine Hernandez emphasizes, “Our mission is to actively contribute to the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 9, which champions innovation and sustainable industries.” By empowering young entrepreneurs, the show aims to inspire them to become catalysts for a better, more sustainable future. Running from April 28th to May 12th, this three-episode showcase celebrates the bold and boundless spirit of entrepreneurship. It’s a launchpad for student dreamers, those unafraid to take risks and shape industries. “Roar to Riches” is more than a show; it’s a testament to the power of youth-driven innovation and the future of business leadership.
