Fast-rising alt-rock band Culture Wars is back in Manila, this time as part of Maroon 5’s Asia Tour (Tour Stops: Manila – January 29, Jakarta – February 1, Kuala Lumpur – February 12, Kaohsiung Taiwan – February 14). The Texas-based band first graced Philippine shores last October as LANY’s opening act at the Philippine Arena, and if their second visit within a few months is any indication, they’re ascending in popularity and demand at a meteoric pace.

Just months after Culture Wars’ single “Miley” captivated Philippine radio and television, introducing the band to a wider audience, their latest single “It Hurts” promises to further endear them to Filipino music fans. Comprised of Alex Dugan, Caleb Contreras, Dillon Randolph, David Grayson, and Josh Stirm, the band is clearly making all the right moves to land tours with some of the world’s biggest acts. In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see them headlining their own major concert tour soon, given their current trajectory. The songwriting talent, the musical prowess, the energetic live performances—Culture Wars possesses them all in abundance, yet this group of guys remains as down-to-earth as any rock band you’ll ever encounter. Sounds too good to be true? Check out their easygoing and candid interviews, and more importantly, immerse yourself in their music.

“It Hurts” explodes with a jangly guitar and a driving bassline that music fans will undoubtedly love to crank up in their cars—it’s undeniably addictive and nostalgic. The track, taken from the band’s forthcoming debut album primarily recorded by the band in Los Angeles, California, is now available on all major music streaming platforms.

ABOUT CULTURE WARS:

Austin’s Culture Wars’ debut album arrives poised to connect with a generation yearning for authenticity and provocation in their rock bands. Recorded at Sonic Ranch Recording Studio, 30 minutes outside El Paso, Texas; Hollywood’s United Recording (Sinatra, Radiohead); and Sunset Sound (The Doors, Prince), the young group’s forthcoming debut album is poised to be a breath of fresh air, brimming with ambition and pure intentions. As the band’s name implies, seemingly disparate passions clash within the songs, somehow beautifully finding harmony.

Culture Wars initially cultivated a following through word-of-mouth and electrifying live performances. Songs like “Heaven,” “Faith,” and “Lose Money” exploded on streaming services, contributing to the group’s expanding audience. “Leave Me Alone,” featured on the GRAMMY-nominated Bill & Ted Face the Music soundtrack, enjoyed an organic boost from mega-influencers and became Culture Wars’ first Top 30 Alternative Rock hit.

Their new work seamlessly blends the past, present, and future with bold swagger. They craft honest, expertly crafted, ambitious rock music designed to resonate with a diverse audience. The sound Culture Wars has developed masterfully integrates the most vital rock and alternative music elements, placing a strong emphasis on genuine guitars.
