In a brand-new featurette, acclaimed director Jon M. Chu invites fans and moviegoers into the spellbinding world of Oz. He shares his excitement for audiences to experience this magical world in the upcoming cinematic adaptation of Wicked, based on the beloved musical that has captivated audiences worldwide.
Cynthia Erivo, who stars as Elphaba, describes Oz as a place where dreams become reality. “The things you think are impossible, the things you are dreaming about, aren’t impossible at all,” she says. Jonathan Bailey, who plays Fiyero, adds that the magic in Oz is palpable and multi-dimensional: “Nothing is just one dimension, in the world of Oz.”
Joining Erivo is Ariana Grande as Glinda, who explains that both Elphaba and Glinda are on journeys to discover their own magic. “Glinda, just like Elphaba, just wants to find her magic,” Grande says, with Erivo adding, “It’s really about harnessing her power and using it to do good.”
