The movie will be released in two parts, with the first installment hitting theaters on November 20, 2024, and Wicked Part Two set to arrive on November 26, 2025.

A Star-Studded Cast:

The film features a powerhouse cast, led by Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, The Color Purple) as Elphaba, the misunderstood green-skinned witch who has yet to unlock her true potential. Joining her is Grammy-winning global superstar Ariana Grande as Glinda, the glamorous and ambitious young woman who has yet to find her true self.

The all-star lineup also includes:

  • Michelle Yeoh (Academy Award winner for Everything Everywhere All At Once) as the regal Madame Morrible, headmistress of Shiz University.
  • Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Fellow Travelers) as Fiyero, the dashing and carefree prince.
  • Ethan Slater (Tony nominee for Spongebob Squarepants) as Boq, the altruistic Munchkin student.

Behind the Magic:

Produced by Marc Platt (La La Land, The Little Mermaid) and David Stone (Kimberly Akimbo, Next to Normal), the Wicked film adaptation brings together the creative team behind the original stage production. The screenplay is adapted by Winnie Holzman, who wrote the book for the musical, and Stephen Schwartz, the legendary Grammy and Oscar-winning composer and lyricist behind the unforgettable songs of Wicked. Their collaboration ensures that the magic of the stage will translate seamlessly to the screen.

A Beloved Musical, Now a Cinematic Experience:

Based on Gregory Maguire’s bestselling novel, Wicked tells the untold story of the witches of Oz, focusing on the complex and unlikely friendship between Elphaba and Glinda before they became the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. With its dazzling music, captivating story, and larger-than-life performances, Wicked has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide, and the film promises to do the same for a new generation of fans.
