Book lovers have once again gathered at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City as the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) returns for its 45th year. The country’s largest and longest-running book event opens with over 100 exhibitors — from local and foreign publishers, bookstores, libraries to university presses, offering exciting discounts and exclusive promos.

Aside from having access to the largest and most comprehensive selection of books, visitors are in for a treat with vast line-up of special events, including meet and greet with authors, exclusive book signings, launching of new titles, talks and many more.
This year, the MIBF occupies two floors of exhibit space to cater more visitors over its five-day run from September 11 to 15.

Among the familiar booths found on the first floor are Fully Booked, Anvil Publishing, Rex Education, Adarna House, Phoenix Publishing, National Historical Commission of the Philippines, Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino, UP Press, UST Press, Ateneo Press, FEU Press, and the returning National Book Store, which skipped last year’s event.
The second floor, on the other hand, almost seems dedicated to children’s books, komiks and graphic novels, young adult books, art and crafts supplies, and independent publishers. Stalls include PSIcom Publishing, 19th Avenida Publishing, The Indie Publishers Collab PH, Kairos Crafts, Pilot Pens and a booth exclusive for National Artist Ricky Lee’s books and merchandise.

MIBF 2024 doors open at 10am and close 8pm. Entrance fee for adult is P50, and P35 for students, faculty, librarians, senior citizens, PWD and children below 4 feet, and free for teachers with ID. Remember, free passes downloaded online must be printed and presented upon entry to the event area.
