Euro Xtreme Circus Review

I have very little recollection of my very first circus experience. It happened when I was about four or five years old, back in the 90s my hometown, Davao City, used to have a lot of circus shows. Unfortunately, circuses stopped coming to my city due to a bad experience with the local organizers which harmed the circus animals who were stranded in the city for a while.

It was a sad occurrence. My parents who love going to these shows, thought my city could never be visited by a circus ever again. It wasnโ€™t until nearly 30 years ago when it was announced that Euro Xtreme Circus was coming to the city to entertain Davaoeรฑos. My mom took an interest in going to the show, and we were lucky to score tickets along with my sister, thanks to our DBS President, Gem Tadefa.

The Euro Xtreme Circus was truly a spectacle to behold. It had different types of talent skill-based acts, which Iโ€™ll each review on this blog post, without spoilers. Even if I write spoilers, it wouldnโ€™t matter because itโ€™s best to watch the performers live. Now on with the review.

Chupetinโ€™s Hilarious Antics Brought Down the House

The show started with a song number from Euro Xtreme Circus groupโ€™s singer as an opening act followed by a comedic act by the circus clown Chupetin. Chupetin entertained everyone by being so naughty as he asked people from the crowd to join his antics.

I thought that Chupetin was only doing one act, but he kept coming back for at least two or three acts, after every act. He acted as a sort of distraction for the audience as the other acts prepare for their stints. Another funny tactic was that he tried doing the trapeze act, only to have failed it.

Towards the end of the show, Chupetinโ€™s final act was the funniest in my opinion. He once again appeared onstage, but was carrying a huge camera with somehow a cute flash. As another interactive act, he called out several people from the audience to pose, and instantly showed huge photos of what seemed to be the printed photo of the chosen audience members. For some reason, it was my favorite act from the circus. I want more of it.

We actually took pictures with the entire cast, and Chupetin was actually friendly and nice. Whatโ€™s really special about Chupetin is how he was able to connect with his audience. Iโ€™d love to see the show once more if I had the chance because of Chupetin.

The Magic Show

The Euro Xtreme Circus magic was performed by Cezar Magician. At my age, I rarely get astonished by magic tricks because I know that they always work no matter what, however scary it may seem.

As I always knew that the magician was going to make it, I didnโ€™t know I was about to be bewildered. There was a surprising twist to his first act. I wonโ€™t spoil anything, so be sure to watch the show if you have the time.

The Master Showmanโ€™s Amusing Acts

The Master Showman had two acts, one was extreme, and the other was leaning on the funnier side, adding a layer of humor to the entire circus act. Like Chupetin, he was also funny, but with more gravitas.

His first act involved his skill at throwing knives. What was thrilling about it was that he got an audience member to participate in the dangerous act. The way he threw the knives was very flawless; I almost didnโ€™t catch his attempt. It was like the knives magically flew on their own at warped speed.

The master showmanโ€™s second act was a simple but funny. He asked about six audience members, gave them bells, and served as a conductor instructing them when to ring them. The act was long, as he was teasing some of the participants and acting like having a crush on one of them, which was truly funny.

Skill-based Spectacles

The skill-based spectacles were the main highlight of the evening as it is what โ€œextremeโ€ stands for, apart from Cezarโ€™s magic show. The first exhibition was the Wheel of Death, in which two performers nailed. It was perhaps one of the most dangerous stunts that required balance, which both performers nailed.

The second one were three men cycling on stage of what was like a sports exhibition. It was my first time witnessing one, and having that act has made the Euro Xtreme circus unique and diverse.

A circus wouldnโ€™t be called one without a trapeze act. I mentioned this a while ago and after Chupetin hilariously disrupted the whole act and gave up, it was time for the real performers to do the performance.

I thought I wouldnโ€™t, but I was mind-blown by the entire act. One of the performers covered his face with a black cloth, but still nailed his exhibition. It was exhilarating!

Another amazing act was the aerial silk performer. Her skill required a lot of practice and endurance to nail it, and the women did so gracefully. Her act was breathtaking that I didnโ€™t want it to finish. You should see it for yourself.

Conclusion

Beyond the extreme stunts and daring feats, Euro Extreme Circus strikes a perfect balance with family-friendly entertainment. Itโ€™s a show designed for all ages, and every performance ensured that there is never a dull moment. The whole circus eas invigorating, creating a rollercoaster of emotions that makes the show dynamic and engaging from start to finish.
