And so the rainy days are here again. While most of us are not fond of the wet season, especially here in the Philippines, where we often get more than our fair share of rain, we can still find reasons to appreciate it, such as for not having to water the plants everyday or finding more time to read books, or better yet, for getting us in the mood to listen to senti music.

Here are 5 Filipino love songs for the rainy days.:

“Tayo na sa Ulan” – Ted Reyes

Released in 2010, this heartwarming track from The FILSCAP Songwriting Competition album is a perfect song to sing along while watching the rain pour down.

Independent singer/songwriter Johnoy Danao’s rain-themed love song, from the album Dapithapon, that will chase those rainy day blues away.

“Malayo na ang Puso” – The Jerks

From the 1997 album The Jerks, Pinoy rock icon Chickoy Pura wrote this breakup song about a fading love, which matches the melancholic vibe of rainy weather.

“Sa Pagpatak ng Ulan” – Noel Cabangon

A charming cover of Cesar Montano’s nostalgic song about a man who reminisces of and longs for a past love everytime rainy season comes around.

“Pag Hindi na Pumapatak ang Ulan” – Joel Malabanan

“Marahil ako’y liligaya rin pag hindi na pumapatak ang ulan,” so goes the lyrics of this song that captures the loneliness of a broken heart.
