The tale of Black Knight depicts the journey of a renowned warrior named 5-8 and a displaced person named Sa-wol, as they confront the all-powerful Cheonmyeong Group, which governs a post-apocalyptic Korea devastated by severe air contamination, rendering it unlivable without respiratory support.

Striving for Equality by Demolishing the Corrupt World Built by Cheonmyeong Group

The forthcoming series, Black Knight, guarantees an action-packed and exhilarating adventure that will leave you on the edge of your seat. The recently unveiled primary trailer provides a captivating sneak peek into a post-apocalyptic realm where the Korean peninsula has transformed into an arid wasteland, and a mere one percent of the populace manages to survive. The desolate appearance of Seoul appears strikingly surreal.

The renowned courier 5-8 (Kim Woo-bin) is a savior to humankind, providing oxygen and other vital supplies during the day. However, come nightfall, he transforms into a Black Knight with a mission to overturn the establishment created by Cheonmyeong Group, the de facto ruler of the ruined world. Ryu Seok (Song Seung-heon), the merciless heir to Cheonmyeong Group, clashes with 5-8 as he defends his vision of a world that excludes refugees. Seol-ah (Esom), a major at the Defense Intelligence Command, cautions 5-8 that chaos may spiral out of control. Meanwhile, Sa-wol, a refugee aspiring to become a Black Knight, boldly jumps onto 5-8’s truck, eagerly joining the fray.

“That’s exactly what we’re trying to change.”

In addition to the captivating storyline, Black Knight also promises to deliver thrilling action sequences, including heart-pumping car chases on sandy terrain, intense gun battles, and expertly executed hand-to-hand combat. Director Cho Ui-seok’s goal was to create scenes that are “more authentic and lively” than those depicted in the original webtoon. While 5-8 is plotting to upend the corrupt world order, Ryu Seok’s sinister ambitions, Sa-wol’s aspiration of becoming a Black Knight, and Seol-ah’s investigation into the dark secrets of Cheonmyeong are all in play. All eyes are on the vast universe that Black Knight is poised to unveil.

Mark your calendars and get ready to be engrossed: Black Knight will be globally available on May 12, exclusively on Netflix.
