Here are some key points from Little Women’s August 29 press conference.
Director of Vincenzo is back at it again with a solid storyline
Director Kim Hee-won, best known for directing Vincenzo, is returning with a new mystery story. This time, she teams up with author Chung Seo Kyung, renowned for her work on the masterpiece The Handmaiden and the recently popular film, Decision to Leave. Chung Seo Kyung penned the captivating tale of three courageous but impoverished sisters who are about to rebel against the most affluent family in Korea.
Chung Seo Kyung’s stories always have clear-cut, sympathetic motivations: the three sisters are very close, yet the subject of money (or a lack of it) permeates their lives. Director Kim Hee-won explained at the press conference that writer Chung Seo Kyung reinvented the book Little Women by asking, “What if the sisters arrived in Korea?” and that the production designer Ryu Seong-hee and the strong cast performances bring the tightly-knit narrative to life. The experience of working with this ideal team was fantastic. Stay tuned to see one of the most captivating plotlines developed by the two amazing storytellers as the three sisters go into action.
