Bristol-based rock trio Krooked Tongue have released their latest single, ‘Dog Days’, out today (August 8, 2025), marking another electrifying preview of their highly anticipated debut album, due early 2026. The track, recorded and produced with longtime collaborator Josh Gallop (Sergeant Thunderhoof, Mother Vulture) at Stage 2 Studios in Bath, captures the raw, all-consuming intensity of teenage love—a theme frontman Oli Rainsford describes as both chaotic and beautiful. “It’s everything and nothing all at once,” he explains. “We trick ourselves into thinking that this moment is all there will ever be. Hindsight changes everything, but at the time, those emotions feel like your whole life.” Originally written on acoustic guitar before being fleshed out with the band’s signature gritty energy, ‘Dog Days’ blends bass-heavy drive with wistful melody, creating a sound that’s as nostalgic as it is urgent.

The single follows a string of well-received tracks from the upcoming album, including ‘Marigold’, ‘Let ‘Em Loose’, and ‘Nothing Ever Grows’—the latter soundtracking a high-profile boxing match on DAZN Sports. With support from Apple Music’s Breaking Hard Rock, Sirius XM, and BBC Introducing, Krooked Tongue have steadily built a reputation for their sharp, groove-laden sound, drawing comparisons to Queens of the Stone Age and Deftones. Their 2022 debut EP, No Vacancy Hotel, and 2023’s Deathproof amassed over 600,000 combined streams and praise from outlets like Distorted Sound and Ones To Watch. Now signed to Wipeout Music and TRUST Artists’ live roster, the band—comprising Rainsford (vocals/bass), Dan Smith (guitar), and Harry Pritchard (drums)—are poised for their biggest year yet, with a Birmingham show supporting False Heads on August 30. ‘Dog Days’ isn’t just a love letter to youth; it’s proof Krooked Tongue are ready to dominate the UK rock scene.
