The track delivers a blistering critique of rising fascism and current political leadership, with Stephan declaring: “I’m mad. I was raised to believe in America’s ideals—that monarchy wasn’t for us. Now they’re threatening my trans friends, targeting minorities, and trying to rewrite our values. But we’re the majority. This country won’t fall without a fight.”
The Minnesota-born, Tulsa-honed artist—whose “gorgeously emotive voice draws comparisons to Florence Welch and Fiona Apple (NPR)—has evolved from a shy teen writing piano songs to a fearless performer signed to TRO Essex (home to Woody Guthrie and The Who).
