As the biggest economy in the world, the United States has ruled every industry, from finance to pop culture. It is the hot pot of entertainment, the cream of the crop. Hence, I’ve wanted to visit and live there since I was a child. And while it remains one of the biggest goals of my life, I know that soon, I’ll be able to go. Since everyone is into this law of attraction, manifestation concept, perhaps the universe has given me signs of my big US trip–and one of them is Mortgage Calculator’s Financial Video Games.

When I first visited the Mortgage Calculator Website for their money games, I thought the games would be fun and easy, but they turned out to be quite challenging. Since I haven’t been to the USA, I’m unfamiliar with their currency. I know it will be easy to pay in dollars when I get there, but the money displayed in the Mortgage Calculator video games can be confusing. I’m also not very knowledgeable about US presidents, except for Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Franklin. Perhaps that’s why one of the writers on this website recommended it to me. Nevertheless, I love the games and have gained a lot from them, especially in learning to recognize the faces on the dollar bills—which will be especially useful on my trip to the USA.

Coin Saver Challenge

If the Philippine peso were used in the Coin Saver Challenge game, I would nail it in seconds. However, playing it repeatedly would feel like overkill, as it is designed for children, like introducing coin faces to them for the first time. For a foreigner like me, it was a valuable learning experience, like playing the piano for the first time or memorizing titles and artists of paintings. It was quite a challenge because I felt as though my brain was rewiring itself; the information wasn’t easy to grasp, especially since the coins were presented only virtually. I often mixed up the 5-cent and 25-cent coins because I found the hairstyles of the two Presidents confusing. Additionally, the game’s time limit made it difficult for me to succeed during at least my first three to five attempts.

The pig I dressed up at the end of the game

I totally enjoyed the game and the new knowledge I gained from it. If it has been a while since you’ve challenged your brain and learned something new, I highly recommend this game. One of the highlights is that at the end, after saving up money throughout the game, you get to style a virtual pig using all the money you’ve collected. The dress-up feature was really fun and offered a variety of designs to choose from.

I’m hoping that Mortgage Calculator would also offer the game in different currencies. Apart from the brain teaser, I think it would greatly benefit people traveling to another country. They could practice handling different faces of coins before using the actual money during their trip.

Counting Money

Mortgage Calculator’s Counting Money game focuses on saving money and earning rewards in the end. The objective is to add up all the coins and bills that are equivalent to the goal assigned to you. I had perfected the Coin Saver Challenge game before playing the Counting Money game, so I was ready to take on the new challenge. I started playing the easy round but encountered a glitch in the game, especially when the screen prompted me for 0.00. I tried submitting nothing or just skipping it but to no avail. Hence, I decided to jump straight to Level 3 of the game instead of sticking to Level 1, and I truly enjoyed adding up all the money. It felt like I was shopping at my dream store in the US.

I had fun gathering all the money and playing Counting Money, and honestly, I didn’t wanna stop. I was sad when the game ended. Like the Coin Saver Challenge, you must memorize the bills and coins. It’s easier to see the bills virtually, but it gets tough to recognize the coins, so you have to familiarize yourself with them, especially if you’re not from the USA and haven’t been there.

So far, these are the two games that I played on the Mortgage Calculator Video Games Site. The website caters to kids, but as an adult who didn’t know about the faces of the US coins, again, it was such an enjoyable challenge. I can hardly wait to touch the real dollar coins, and of course, to remind myself of them, I’d play these two games again
