As the biggest economy in the world, the United States has ruled every industry, from finance to pop culture. It is the hot pot of entertainment, the cream of the crop. Hence, I’ve wanted to visit and live there since I was a child. And while it remains one of the biggest goals of my life, I know that soon, I’ll be able to go. Since everyone is into this law of attraction, manifestation concept, perhaps the universe has given me signs of my big US trip–and one of them is Mortgage Calculator’s Financial Video Games.
When I first visited the Mortgage Calculator Website for their money games, I thought the games were going to be fun and easy, but they turned out to be challenging. And for the reason that I haven’t been to the USA, and I have no idea about their money. I know that when I get there, it’ll be easy to pay via dollars, but in the Mortgage Calculator video games, the money is shown on screen, and I tell you, I’m also not very familiar with the USA Presidents, except for Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Franklin. Perhaps that’s the reason why one of the writers of this website suggested the website to me. So fast forward, I love the games, and I got a great benefit from them: knowing the faces of the dollar–especially handy when I’m about to tour the USA.
Coin Saver Challenge

If it were the Philippine peso that was used in the Coin Saver Challenge game, I would nail it in seconds. It would be a disservice if I played it again and again, as it is intended for children, like if you’re introducing the faces of coins to your kids. However, for a foreigner like myself, it was also a new learning experience, like learning how to play the piano for the first time or memorizing a batch of painting titles and artists. It was a wonderful challenge because I really felt like my brain cells were almost rewiring, as the information wasn’t that easy to comprehend, especially since the coins were only introduced virtually, and I tell you, I always get to mix up the 5 cents and 25 cents, as the hair of the two Presidents confused me. Given that the game also had a time limit, I had a hard time getting it for at least the first three to five tries.

Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the game and the new knowledge that I gained from it. If it has been a while since you’ve learned something new and made your brain work, then I highly recommend this game. It’s also great that at the end of the game since you’ve saved up money, you get to style a virtual pig using all the money that you collected. The dress-up was so fun and had different designs to choose from.
Since I enjoyed playing the game so much and it’s such a great brain exercise, I’m hoping that Mortgage Calculator would also offer it in different currencies. Apart from the brain teaser, I think the game would greatly benefit people who would travel to another country and they could practice taking on the different faces of coins before using the actual money during their trip.
Counting Money

Mortgage Calculator’s Counting Money game is also about saving money and having rewards in the end. You just have to add up all the coins and bills that are equivalent to the goal assigned to you. I perfected the Coin Saver Challenge game before playing the Counting Money game, so I was ready to take on the new challenge. I started playing the easy round, but there was kind of a glitch in the game, especially during the challenge when the screen asks you for 0.00. I tried putting nothing or just skipping it, but to no avail. Hence, I went ahead and played Level 3 of the game instead of sticking to Level 1, and I truly enjoyed adding all the money. It’s like I’m already shopping at my dream store to visit in the US.
I really had fun gathering all the money and playing Counting Money, and to be honest, I didn’t wanna stop. I was kind of sad when the game ended. Like the Coin Saver Challenge, you’d have to memorize the bills and coins. It’s easier to virtually see the bills, but it gets really difficult to recognize the coins, so you really have to familiarize yourself with them, especially if you’re not from the USA and haven’t been there.
So far, these are the two games that I played on the Mortgage Calculator Video Games Site. The website caters to kids, but as an adult who didn’t know about the faces of the US coins, again, it was such an enjoyable challenge. I can hardly wait to touch the real dollar coins, and of course, to remind myself of them, I’d play these two games again and again.
