You heard it right! An animated adaptation of The Terminator Series is already confirmed and almost in the works! It will be shown and distributed by Netflix.

According to a report by Deadline, studio Production I.G. will handle the animation, while Mattson Tomlin (writer of The Batman starring Robert Pattinson) will be the showrunner and executive producer.

The Terminator series has been adapted to different mediums and formats, such as comic books and graphic novels. Not to mention, the series has been made in many various additional sequels that most of its fans have cried to stop. But this time, it’s the first time that they’re doing an animation series.

This news is very exciting because I, like other people, believe that an animated adaptation of The Terminator series is its core being. It’s what it’s meant to be. I can just imagine it to be more action-packed and perhaps darker since there is almost no limitation in making an anime series than a live-action film.

What’s more fascinating is that according to Mattson Tomlin, the anime series “breaks conventions, subverts expectations, and has real guts.” Now, we’re looking forward to it!
