Harry Styles’ ‘Harry’s House:

  • Rare chart double no. 1 album and single achieved in multiple countries
  • Breaks US vinyl sales record in 3 days
  • It is currently the largest sales debut of this year.

Harry Styles’ critically acclaimed new album Harry’s House has topped charts worldwide and set a slew of new milestones. The new album debuted at #1 in the United States on the Billboard 200 chart with 521.5k units sold, the largest week of 2022 for any album and only the fourth album in the last 18 months to do so. This massive debut is Harry’s third consecutive #1 solo album debut, extending his record as the first U.K. With their first three albums, a male musician has debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, with the biggest sales week for a solo U.K. artist. Since Nielsen Music began electronically tracking sales data in 1991, no male artist’s album has topped the chart.

The incredible U.S. debut follows Harry’s massive international success, with the album debuting at #1 in over 17 countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Australia, the Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, Sweden, New Zealand, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Norway, Finland, Spain, and Denmark.

Harry has also achieved rare chart doubles in many countries, with Harry’s House and “As It Was” topping the album and singles charts in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Australia, Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland, and Belgium, respectively.

In the United States, “As It Was” is back at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the fourth week, and Harry adds three new songs to the Top 10 (“Late Night Talking,” “Music For A Sushi Restaurant,” and “Matilda”), with the entire album ranking in the top 30. Styles joins The Beatles as the only British acts to have four consecutive Hot 100 Top 10s, which they did for five weeks in 1964.

Furthermore, Harry is only the third artist in history to have occupied the entire Top 3 of the UK singles chart, with the lead single “As It Was” remaining at #1 for the eighth week, making it the year’s longest-running chart-topper. “Late Night Talking” and “Music for a Sushi Restaurant” round out the rest of the UK Top 3. Harry dominates the ARIA singles charts in Australia, with all 13 tracks from the new album charting in the Top 15, a new high. Harry also smashes the record for the most Top 10 hits, with eight now in the Top 10, and becomes the first artist in ARIA chart history to hold the Top 4 tracks at the same time.

“As It Was” is still the most popular song on the planet, having spent an eighth week at the top of the Billboard Global 200 chart, extending its reign as the year’s longest-running single and earning the most weeks at #1 on the chart history for a British artist.

‘Harry’s House’ also sets a modern-era record for single-week vinyl album sales in the United States, selling 182k copies in the first three days of release, the highest sales week for a vinyl album since Luminate began tracking music sales in 1991, surpassing Taylor Swift’s RED’s previous high of 114k set last year. The LP went on to become the best-selling vinyl of the century in the United Kingdom, surpassing ABBA’s previous record of 29k. The record also outsold the rest of the Top 40 combined vinyl album list in the United Kingdom this week, making it the fastest-selling album of 2022 thus far, gaining gold certification in just one week. In Australia, he has surpassed Tame Impala’s The Slow Rush for the most sales in a single week since the launch of the Vinyl Albums chart in 2019.

Harry performed the new album for the first time ever at a special ‘ONE NIGHT ONLY IN NEW YORK’ live event at UBS arena in New York to mark the record’s release.
