Now is the time to bring beloved K-Pop artists back to the Philippines. NCT Dream, SHINee’s Key, WEi, and ALICE are coming to Manila for “Begin Again: KPOP Edition” happening on May 29, 2022, 5:00 PM at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

It’s no secret that Filipino fans have been longing to see their favorite Korean musicians perform live.
There are muted whispers of “I miss viewing concerts!” and “When are fan gatherings coming back?” in various corners of the web among the hustle to collect photocards and make it to online video call events.

Fans will be in for a treat this summer, as four South Korean acts will perform in Manila. NCT DREAM, SHINee’s KEY, WEi, and ALICE will play their biggest hits live at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on May 29, 2022 at 5 p.m. for “Begin Again: KPOP Edition.”

This historic event, aptly named “Begin Again,” represents the country’s first overseas concert in two years. After years of strictly online interactions, the artists have gathered to meet their adoring fans in person. As idol and fan reunite, expect a lot of enthusiasm and, most importantly, happy tears. Most importantly, it provides a platform for artists to support their followers during these trying times.

To add to the delight, “Begin Again” includes a few of the artists’ signature moments. NCT DREAM, for example, is returning to “open the doors” of foreign live events after being the last to do so in 2020. Meanwhile, KEY is returning to the Philippines for the first time. He is performing as a solo performer this time. His most recent visit was in 2017 for a fundraiser event with his band.

ALICE, on the other hand, gets to see more of their Pinoy fans than the previous time they were here. The girl group, which was previously known as ELRIS, has recently rebranded and acquired two new members. For the first time, WEi sets its sights on Filipino RUi. The six-member boy group didn’t get many chances to meet their worldwide fans because they debuted amid a pandemic.

Each of the four groups has just released new material. With two million albums sold, NCT DREAM completed their “Glitch Mode” phase. This comeback also marked their first appearance on the Billboard 200 Chart, at number 50, demonstrating their international prominence.

Meanwhile, SHINee’s KEY made his solo debut in 2018 and has since released many albums, the most recent of which is “Bad Love.” The six-track mini-album, which included the titular single, was released in September of last year. It won KEY his first music show triumph, as well as a slew of accolades, including third place in NME’s “The 25 best K-pop songs of 2021.”

WEi, a boy group that is only two years old, is a force to be reckoned with. Members DAE HYEON, DONG HAN, YONG HA, YO HAN, SEOK HWA, and JUN SEO published their mini-album “Love Pt.1: First Love” in March and have received a lot of positive feedback from fans all around the world. The album placed them sixth on the Gaon Chart in Korea.

Finally, ALICE’s latest song “Power of Love” was released on May 4, 2022. This emotional ballad featured members EJ, Do-A, Chaejeong, Yeonjae, Yukyung, Sohee, and Karin, who all contributed their wonderful voices. It’s the appropriate song for these turbulent times, singing of desire for a distant loved one while never losing confidence in their connection.
