T. C. Weber is an author, ecologist, and climate expert. “The Survivors,” his new novel, was released on Monday.

The Survivors explores the consequences of runaway climate change, the tensions between short-term survival and long-term thinking, and the fragility of civilization and the human psyche. “It’s not for the faint of heart,” says Weber. “It’s definitely the darkest of all my books,” he adds.

The Survivors, a post-apocalyptic horror novella for adults with strong stomachs, depicts a dreadful future in which global warming has rendered the globe practically uninhabitable. Civilization has crumbled, and the few survivors are fighting for survival every day. Solstice Publishing (Denver, CO) published the book, which is accessible in both print and downloadable formats.

Lucy, a young mother of two, wishes to improve her life by resurrecting lost knowledge and abilities.
The rest of her gang, led by her cruel aunt, is just concerned with day-to-day survival at all costs.
When their house is destroyed by a deadly hurricane, Lucy’s gang is forced to travel, where they must contend with starvation, scorching temperatures, and vicious enemies. And it’s only the beginning of their misery.

“Lucy’s determination and sanity are sorely tested,” says Weber. British author John Moralee called it “a disturbing and memorable story.”

Mr. Weber previously published a cyberpunk thriller trilogy with See Sharp Press called Sleep State Interrupt, The Wrath of Leviathan, and Zero-Day Rising (Tucson, AZ). Sleep State Interrupt was a Compton Crook Award finalist for best debut speculative fiction novel in 2017. The second and third installments were released in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Then came Born in Salt, an alternate history novel in which a historically accurate plot to depose President Franklin D. Roosevelt and install a fascist dictatorship succeeded rather than failed.
